How we work:

    >In support of IJM global work, our chapter holds events throughout the the year to raise funds for various operations. These events not only work to support IJM monetarily, but also to raise public awareness about the problem of human trafficking.

    >Some of our events include: Our monthly business outreach, our new fall event to raise funds through a pop-up store called Threads, our Springtime event Fight 4 Freedom, as well as weekly meetings and speaker engagements which are announced via our social media pages.

Community Outreach:

Through community outreach, our chapter engages local businesses in the Bryan-College Station area in order to raise awareness about the issue of domestic human trafficking. During community outreach, our members work to inform the public about the signs of human trafficking, and how to spot a victim of this crime.

No Slave November:

No Slave November is a series of events our chapter holds every fall semester, specifically to raise money for global operations. Some events included in previous years have been: spike ball tournaments, film screenings of documentaries like "Nefarious", and even benefit concerts.

This year we will be hosting a pop-up shop, Threads, to raise funds while creating awareness of trafficking in the clothing industry.

Speak Up!

In February 2019, A&M's IJM participated in the first annual Speak Up! A tweeting campaign designed to raise awareness for modern-day slavery and exhort our Congressmen to protect $20 million of anti-trafficking funding. The campaign culminated in a documentary screening on campus on February 26th. Nationwide, IJM mobilized 2,873 college students to join the movement and we generated 8,995 messages to congress through tweets and emails. We look forward to seeing the long term effects of our advocacy and can't wait to participate in Speak Up again in future years!
